USADA Should be spending on more accurate detection methods, not hunting down icons

Lance Armstrong is an icon and probably one of the best cyclist in the world. He's an icon because of not what he has done with the sport, but what he has done with his fame. He's raised almost half a billion dollars in cancer research. Yet, USADA has probably spent millions to tear down his reputation. Even if it is true, they had 7 straight years in a row to catch him cheating. What is the point? There is more damage than good. The damage is in his foundation and the world's fight against terminal illnesses. The good is to show today's cyclist not to cheat. Um....how much money did they spend to investigate Lance? How much will be needed to be spent to find out who were the winners if Lance cheated? Does his wins just go to second place, third place, or even 10th place? USADA should be spending their time and energy in devising new methods for detection instead of spending all their energy one man. And this one man is probably not the person that is worth investigating in because of what he's done outside the sport. It also tarnishes the USA itself. Your own country. It's an international sport and you're tattling on your own. It really doesn't make sense at all.

Duncan Keith Deserves Suspension for the rest of the season and first round of playoffs MINIMUM

So above is a reminder of the hit on Daniel Sedin during the game with the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. It was a dirty, dirty, dirty hit. Here are the following reasons why the NHL needs to come down really hard on Keith.

  1.  Now imagine if it was Crosby that got hit like that. That kind of predatory hit would likely end Crosby's career because of his history blows to the head. Imagine that, the best player in the world can't play anymore because of a gutless hit like this. If he only gets 3 to 5 games, it's a slap on the wrist. It does not send a strong enough message across the league to not target the head.
  2. Was the puck anywhere near/playable? No. Just look at the video, the puck clearly is not playable.
  3. Was the hit directed to the head? Yes, emphatically yes and purposeful. This was a new rule that came in this year and Aaron Rome still got 4 games when we didn't even have that rule in place!  Now that we have that rule in place, it really needs to be enforced big time.
  4. Was the player injured? Yes. For how long, we don't know yet. Like I said, if it was Crosby, his career would be over from a hit like this. Someone can easily end his career by a gutless hit that gives him a 3 to 5 game suspension. The penalty must be strong across the league. I even think this is just as bad as the Bertuzzi hit on Moore, except he used his fist instead of his elbow and lucky for sedin, there wasn't a dog pile of guys that jumped on top of Moore and Bertuzzi.

Why does theatre popcorn tastes soooo good compared to homemade?

I really don't get it. On the weekend, I popped my popcorn in the microwave and prepared a bowl of melted butter. After 2 and half minutes, I ripped open the bag o popcorn and placed it in a lot of butter.  I put a lid on the bowl and shook it around. Picked up a handful of popcorn and was shocked how bad it tasted. I love theatre popcorn now. I'm addicted to it and it's so bloody expensive at the theatre for it.

I've googled around on the internet and found comments such as popcorn at theatres having 'exicitoxins'. Doesn't sound too appetizing when it ends with 'toxins'! does it?  But too late, millions of us are hooked to this popcorn. It's like a smoking habit. I bet anyone reading this rant right now is picturing themselves munching down on a handful of theatre popcorn!

Boy do I want some right now!

I guess I'm heading to the theatres tonight! =)

Facebook

The other day, I was watching House. One of the doctor's (Chase) had his facebook account hacked by some girl he had a 3-some with. The girl posted fake pics of his 'ahem' and posted many things up that hurt his reputation. Major ouch.

So this brings me to my rant of the day. Facebook....why it scares me so. Imagine if you have over 1000 friends and your facebook account gets hacked. Heck, Mark Zuckerberg also got his own account hacked recently (http://idhacker.com/2011/01/27/mark-zuckerberg-account-hacked/) . Now you'll have to contact that 1000 people on your friends list to explain that you no longer are in control of your facebook account. What is the likelyhood you have all those people on your Facebook's email address or phone numbers? The thing is, a growing number of people have been using Facebook now as their primary and sometimes ONLY means of communication. I hope this rant is read by some people so that people just wake up! It's time to wake up, facebook is a fun place but it's not a place to do business, not a place to keep all your contacts! Simply, it should be a secondary or tertiary place of communication.

Once it's hacked, you're toast!

Comments are welcome!
