Duncan Keith Deserves Suspension for the rest of the season and first round of playoffs MINIMUM

So above is a reminder of the hit on Daniel Sedin during the game with the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. It was a dirty, dirty, dirty hit. Here are the following reasons why the NHL needs to come down really hard on Keith.

  1.  Now imagine if it was Crosby that got hit like that. That kind of predatory hit would likely end Crosby's career because of his history blows to the head. Imagine that, the best player in the world can't play anymore because of a gutless hit like this. If he only gets 3 to 5 games, it's a slap on the wrist. It does not send a strong enough message across the league to not target the head.
  2. Was the puck anywhere near/playable? No. Just look at the video, the puck clearly is not playable.
  3. Was the hit directed to the head? Yes, emphatically yes and purposeful. This was a new rule that came in this year and Aaron Rome still got 4 games when we didn't even have that rule in place!  Now that we have that rule in place, it really needs to be enforced big time.
  4. Was the player injured? Yes. For how long, we don't know yet. Like I said, if it was Crosby, his career would be over from a hit like this. Someone can easily end his career by a gutless hit that gives him a 3 to 5 game suspension. The penalty must be strong across the league. I even think this is just as bad as the Bertuzzi hit on Moore, except he used his fist instead of his elbow and lucky for sedin, there wasn't a dog pile of guys that jumped on top of Moore and Bertuzzi.
